Insurance agent can generally make more money easily. I being an insurance agent have personal experience on it. Generally, the amount an agent gets varies from policy to policy. If the person takes a higher rate policy, the commission that the agent gets would be proportional to it. It is known that policies regarding cars or other products are high when compared to life insurance policies; some take policies for 50000$ while certain others take it for 10000$. It all varies from policy to policy. In the first case, the agent can get a commission of 500$ but in the latter case, he or she may get just 100$. This is just a small example.The insurance company can also have its hand here. Some insurance companies LIC, India offer a great commission to its agent while certain other companies do not provide those. The more the policy the agent takes, there could be some additional pay on account of this fact too. Hence the commission varies with the work the agent does.
